Images of women

Wearing sleeveless laced saya, pellote and mantle

The combination of sleeveless laced saya, pellote and mantle seems quite common in the illuminations. This style also shows off the embroidery on the tunic underneath, the camisa. The saya and pellote of doña Leonor likely formed part of such a set.

All images of illuminations come from Alfonso's Book of Games. Many thanks for letting me use them!

Also my thanks to the folks at the Medieval Spain list, for all their help. :)
